Microgravity Unleashed. From the complexity of space to new opportunities

The microgravity environment offers unique conditions and opportunities to accelerate technological innovation, with important results in areas such as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, materials science, human research or satellite communication. These opportunities, once the exclusive preserve of government space agencies or large corporations, are now less elitist and increasingly within the reach of small to medium-sized companies.

Thanks to end-to-end services provided by specialized companies, access to experiments on the International Space Station (ISS) and in orbit is becoming accessible not only to universities and start-ups, but also to traditional businesses. Specialized space companies are providing standardized platforms for transporting, installing, and managing projects in microgravity, making it unnecessary to possess specific space expertise. A change that democratizes innovation and expands the frontiers of research.

Through direct testimonies, shared reflections and a discussion of future challenges and opportunities, this free meeting - organized by Voyager Technologies Europe and ESA BIC Turin, hosted in the Incubator of Politecnico di Torino (I3P) and realized with the support of the Piedmont Region through the resources of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) - will provide an in-depth overview of research and innovation in the microgravity environment, guiding participants toward new perspectives on the field.

How to participate

The event will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., in attendance in I3P, which is located within the Campus of Politecnico di Torino and accessible from two different pedestrian entrances: at Corso Castelfidardo 30 and Via Borsellino 53/N in Turin, Italy.

Participation is free, after registration on Eventbrite.
